Thank a Teacher and St. Mary’s Speaker Series

Dear Francisco Heights Civic Association Neighbors:

The San Francisco Education Fund is running a Thank a Teacher Today campaign to acknowledge public school teachers for their hard work, professionalism and dedication. During the month of May we’ll deliver care packages of classroom supplies (a long list requested by teachers), Peet’s goodies, and a teacher discount program to teacher lounges at all 114 San Francisco public schools, as well as raising funds to provide teacher professional development and classroom volunteers.

It will send a great message of support to the staff if we, as the Francisco Heights neighbors, sponsored the program at Roosevelt Middle School. Anyone who wants to chip in could – the goal would be to raise $1,200 by the end of March. This covers the sponsorship cost and all of the deliveries would arrive with banners acknowledging that the donations are from “Your Francisco Heights Neighbors”.

More information is at www.thankateachertoday.org and anyone who wanted to donate can do so online.  If you do so, please write “Roosevelt Middle School” where it asks for the school, and “Francisco Heights Civic Association Neighbors” in the Notes section.

It would be great if you’d also let me know. There will be opportunities to actually deliver the supplies if you are interested. This effort would create a good relationship with teachers and if we have concerns about vandalism of our park or rowdy behavior in our neighborhood, teachers are our allies to help us reach these kids.

Feel free to contact me with any questions/comments/concerns. Email Paula Romanovsky: marchpartners@paulamarch.com, and THANK YOU!
